Black and white themes are widely used in the youthful collection without being the only ones forming the color palette of the entire line. Talking about the latter it’s worth mentioning the overall calmness of the combinations. This is presented by shades of light blue going with cream, beige with black-and-blue floral motives as well as a cute, lightly shiny and weightless turquoise, diverse shades of grey and some glossy silver. This calmness, is however, slightly interrupted with the appearance of the burning red tones.
The general fabric used to create the Marc by Marc Jacobs spring/summer 2014 collection is satin in its various interpretations. Here the main shapes of the pieces are concentrated within suit and pants pairs, as well as more frequently seen jumpsuits and playsuits. Coats and jackets are another significant part of the collection. They are created according to the principle of being diverse and united by common drifts at the same time.
What refers to the other motives used to create the pieces, we can’t but make a reference to the black and white duets, which are nicely expressed via star themes printed on the cute jumpsuits and playsuits. Looking at them, you start having an impression as if it’s the day and night imprinted on those garments. The outcome is really stunning and efficacious.
The symmetrical curly and wavy stripes are another characterizing detail of the Marc by Marc Jacobs spring/summer 2014 collection. Coming to the main ideas of the collection, that is the uniformity of the garments, we should, of course, mention details emphasizing this tendency: it’s the manly suit-and-pants duets, and certainly the loosely designed and almost transparent tank tops that make the original inclination come alive. The extremely cute small satin scarves are just perfect for the role of the final touch.
So, who said girls can’t look cute when dressing like machos? Time to break another stereotype! Ladies, on the runway! The Marc by Marc Jacobs spring/summer 2014 collection is on!
